- The percentage of politicians re-elected for Norwegian
municipal councils has been 36, 36, 36, and 37 percent for the last four
elections (1979, 1983, 1987, and 1991) (Larsen
and Offerdal, 1994: p 83).
- In this article, the term issue is also
used for the individual cases handled in the local political system.
- In Norway, the Mayor is a politician, elected by
and serving as chairman of the local council.
- Hours spent in formal meetings are not included.
