Submitting to ScholarOne

Manuscripts should be submitted online at the ScholarOne Manuscripts site for MIS Quarterly.

Format

Manuscripts and associated materials should be submitted electronically to the MISQ ScholarOne Manuscripts URL listed above. Papers must be submitted via a Word document file format. Before using other formats, please contact the review coordinator through ScholarOne Manuscripts.

Communications about your manuscript should be conducted through ScholarOne. All authors of a paper must be copied on any electronic communications with the senior editor or staff in the office of MISQ.

Research Transparency

All submissions must be accompanied by a commitment by the author(s) in the paper’s cover letter to make transparency materials available in the round after receiving a minor revision decision. For more information regarding this intiative, please visit this page.

Additionally, authors will need to complete a transparency commitment and upload the completed document as part of their submission. A template is here for authors to download. Authors will need to upload this document during Step 2: Upload Files > add this file as “Miscellaneous.”

Significance Statements

As described in the March 2023 Editor’s Comments, authors need to submit a “significance statement” along with their paper. A significance statement, sometimes called a public significance statement, is a concise articulation of why a paper is important for the world beyond academia. You can view them as encapsulations of a paper’s practical motivation and practical implications.

Significance statements are required to be short (≤90 words) and written in a simple and accessible manner.  A template is here for authors to download. Authors will need to upload this document during Step 2: Upload Files > add this file as “Miscellaneous.” For guidance, please see this link
